Create your first email campaign

Here's how you can create your first email campaign in a few simple steps:

  1. Go to the Campaigns page in the menu on the left
  2. Click Create Campaign in the top-right corner
  3. Select your Audience
  4. Click Email

Those are the basics. Now for the fun part!

Choose the right template for your campaign

When you create an email campaign in Copilot.cx, you'll be given a choice of templates.

Here's a quick roundup of the options available:

  • Start from scratch – build your own design using drag-and-drop components
  • Welcome – a long-form email, perfect for introducing new users to your product and brand
  • Simple with image – great for delivering quick messages that drive quick action
  • Simple & short – a short message, ideal for reset password emails and other support messages
  • Rate us – a great example for asking users for reviews
  • Feature release – perfect for spotlighting your latest and greatest feature
  • Limited promotion – ideal for subscriptions and other membership promotions
  • Sales – push for replenishment sales or additional product purchases
  • Special offer – highlight a seasonal discount campaign like Black Friday or Christmas

Or, if you'd prefer, you can upload your own HTML to Copilot.cx. But bear in mind that you won't be able to edit this directly within our platform.

Customize your content

Once you've set up your campaign and chosen your template, you have a bunch of customization options to choose from, including:

  • Subject line – aim for 40 characters or less to maximize your open rates
  • Layout – play around with your template by adding columns, images, buttons, and other elements
  • Social buttons – change the color of your social buttons in the footer and make sure they're pointing to the right pages

You can also add personalized tags anywhere in your content, like a user's name or product.
Custom tags are nested in the subject line or content by using a '{{' symbol and include a placeholder. For example, using {{firstname|user}} will result in the first name being used, or "user" if a first name does not exist for that user.

And when you're done, you can preview your design for desktop or mobile in light or dark mode. Then send yourself a test to make sure it looks and feels the part.
